A short summary
San Antonio is a very well known city, being the 7th most populous city in the whole of the United States. San Antonio started as a simple stop for supplies built by the Spaniards, but it has grown to the bustling metropolis it is today. Of course, it didn't become what it was for nothing. There were many factors that impacted San Antonio for it to become what it is today, and in the early 1900’s, these factors were mainly political, geographical, economical, and social.
San Antonio, being close to a river, was conveniently placed to be open to water transport and to be a center for aquatic activities, both economical and recreational (like fishing and swimming), therefore having a great economy.
Being a city with importance of every citizen in Texas, the Texas government committed funds to preserve the past of San Antonio and to expand it to be a major city in Texas.
The introduction of railroads gave more jobs and facilitated more trade, making the economy of San Antonio greatly increase. Being one of the first cities also allowed it to provide more business jobs which organized the economy.
